Eeeep! I'm very sorry. I just realized that these were posted on personal LJ, and not the community. I hope everyone's voyage through FW is going well. Where are y'all at?

I had a lot of fun with last weeks reading. Yesterday, for completeness sake, I read them out loud in the garden while my girlfriend napped. Wonderful stuff. I was able to read ahead a little, and based on how things have been going (on my end) I've decided to crank up the speed a little. Is this okay?

A really nice theatric reading of FW (from memory!) that ends at 6.28 and finishes with a nice bodhrán rendition of Finnegan's Wake. Incredible.

Joyce drew heavily on the theory of history propounded by Giambattista Vico in Scienzia Nuova or The New Science. The whole work is permeated with a commodius vicus of recirculation (3.2). You can read a summary of the New science here at the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.
